Our 33 strong fire service team provides a professional service for airport staff, other airport based companies and passengers.
In a challenging airport environment – surrounded by a motorway, main rail line, busy rail yards and a protected country park – we’re proud to meet and exceed all the Civil Aviation Authority’s required standards.
Southampton Airport Fire Service also provides commercial training, including first aid, fire prevention, manual handling and courses for professional firefighters.
Training is provided at clients’ premises or in our state-of-the-art facility at the airport.
Our training equipment includes a mock-up short-haul passenger jet, which uses hydrocarbon fuels to provide the most realistic fire training available.
Presented by fully qualified and experienced professional active fire fighters our instructors all hold their PTLLS qualification, along with assessors (A1 NVQ) and Verifier (V1 NVQ). HSE Approved.

All training staff are operational professional fire fighters as well as first aid responders. They work for one of the leading airport operators within the world.
To keep up to date with first aid training the Fire & Rescue Service constantly train with first aid attending real calls as well.
All first aid instructors are HSE approved.
